They met online in March of 2025—and the rest was history. After their first date on March 12th, they both went home and immediately told each other it was the best date they had ever been on. They shared how easy it was to talk and how they had never felt such an instant connection with someone before.

They exchanged phone numbers and talked every day from that point on. At the time, Jason was still on the road, so their relationship was long-distance for the first few months. Thus began their marathon phone calls. They logged countless hours together, often spending entire days on the phone. They would fall asleep mid-conversation and wake up still connected, continuing where they left off. They got to know everything about each other incredibly quickly and fell madly in love within just two months.

In April, Izabel brought Jason to meet her family for Easter, and he fit right in. Her parents expressed how much they liked him after that weekend. By May 2025, Jason had quit his job that kept him traveling and moved to Fargo, ND. While he didn’t explicitly say it was to be closer to Izabel, it was later revealed that this was absolutely the reason. He found a new job that allowed him to work locally.

That same May, they took a trip to Duluth, MN with friends and grew even closer. Immediately afterward, Izabel and Jason went on a road trip to West Virginia, where Izabel met Jason’s family—including his daughter. Jason’s family instantly liked Izabel. His brother even commented on how happy Jason seemed and how refreshing it was to see.

After returning from the trip, they began living together on a trial basis, as Izabel’s lease was ending in September. Their lives blended seamlessly, and their love continued to grow each day. So much so that close friends and family began making comments and jokes about an engagement.

Jason took those comments to heart and started thinking seriously about it. On the day of their engagement—August 20, 2025—Izabel had no idea how real those jokes had become. In fact, just hours earlier, she had been hanging out with a friend who brought up the topic of engagement. The irony was striking when, later that evening, Jason took her to a park, got down on one knee, and proposed.

Izabel was so shocked she was speechless and almost forgot to give Jason an answer—which was understandably stressful for him. But of course, she eventually found the words to say yes.
